The many faces of veterans and the years and regets ….

As I  get more and more involved with  the Vet’s center in-world the more i  find myself  in RL crying for those  lost  and  those  wounded. not able to much other then  get  policies and  other news out  to returning  soldiers and  more  bad  tales of  “war” stories. To make  things  worse is the knowledge thatthe  WW2 and the Veitnam vet’s  are  slowly fading   withtheir  stories  bever to  be  heard or  read again. … There is a  NEED for  local Vetran’s  of Foreign Wars  and the Disabled American veteran’ss local chapters  wanting  pleading for  this   returning  veterans  from Afaghan and iraq  to join and  getactive  in their communities. I  know from what i am hearing and slowly seing  onthe medical side  of the Feres Doctrine(a doctrine that  covers the Military from malpractice suits from Military persons) is  awaiting to  go to the  legislation floor  for  voting on getting it changed.

 

I hope that  i can get a WW2 vet to  honor me with an interveiw soon  and i will be blogging of that. for  now stay tuned…..

Too Many Fngers In The Pie

Why is it I seem to over  exstend myself with offering help? *Sighs* It is just my  nature i guess. I  have  taken on Military  research for PTSD  meetings(of which there is  one tommorrow nightat 7pm slt IM me for aTP  or LM  for the meeting  site.) Getting  caught up on the MSOS baords(yeah been slacking there  the last….oh month) and  of  course  here. I know Ishould be  blogging   daily with  this  PTSD (Post traumatic Stress Disorder for  those that  arent and  do not know  how read militay  info as i  do  or Allie for that matter or  even Jeff for that  matter  as well. Although I have  found in  my  many  gatherings of knowledge from Nomad Alberttros, MarcusE Kidd and  the  research i have  did  on my  own.. there is and are  other  Disorders that  can  and  do  go along with PTSD.

Please  if you  have been  diagnosised with or  know  a Military Veteran  that has returned from Iraq/Afaghinstan or  is a Veteran from Desert Sheild/Storm. or  “nam/. Please  get in  touch with  Nomad Albertros  or myself and we will  help the best  way  we can..

Waterfalls Re-Opening April 5th,2008

Okay, so Ak and I  have  officailly  re-opened WaterFalls  last ngiht! It was great  filled the sim(my thoughts of  it  be a small sim and  only having  16 people in one place ). Anyways, it was great  we  invited the Veteran’s  to help us celebrate the  re-opening as well-and  many  did come.

Thanks  goes out to Abraca Cardiff, shipton sands md Gwill (forgoive  for  not at thsi moment  rememberin his  last name) and Asdaa Oh forom the Vteran’s  Center  in helping and  bein at  Waterfalls . I want to say tat  with  all of this  coming and helping  many thanks  is  given to all invovled.

We hope to have another  event with in the  next few weeks…. we will see  how that  goes  though. please stay tuned for  more  details on Waterfalls  or  anything  else i  have  mentioned in past  posyings.

Disabled people Welcomed in to SL and Disabled Military Veteran’s and their families find resources with in SL

For those that  read  this  blog i have  news   for you! Yes, that is  right i have  something good to say this  time( no more  ranting of my  anger!) 

 I want to let all know that I am invovled  in the US and  now also accepting Allied Armed Forces Military Veteran’s  center in-world…. i am also proud to say that the Support group iam invovled with  in RL  too is  also a part  of this  great cause  we ar wanting toraise awareness  about the Military adn  the resources that are there for  disabled vets and  others. The Heron Sanctuary specializes in bringing people with disabilities into SL and integrating them so they can get all the benefits, and coping mechanisms, that virtual community offers.  New SL members with disabilities that affect their ability to access SL features are given individualized skills assessment, training, and referrals for appropriate assistive technology.  As the Sanctuary grows we will expand our Orientation and peer support programs to become a primary resource for disabled SL users.

new friends and horizons coming……..

Yes  tis  is  true I am making new  friends and  taking  things  to  new leels. I soon will be   hosting with AK the  regrand Opening (from two states and hree time zones apart) of WaterFalls. This  is  still a bit iffy  as  AK and I haven’t  had time to talk of dates and times. that  is to come soon.

I have  been trying to explore a bit  here and there…. meeting new friends and that…… I haven’t  really wanted to  build or anything at this time, but I am sure in time i might. I am just  going and being myself these days nothing  new really. Liza Rolands, Alan’s  new  partner and a freind of mine now and Alan (again yeah we  let by-gones be by-gones) showed me their house  today and that is great… as for  the land thatAlan bought- he still has that for “a safety net” and that is great at least. We both have changed and i thinkthat is what  we needed.

Yeah,   i know i am rambling  in this  posting….. some throe me a bone  ro something to chew on  please? Thanks-Shaunny

Thing are askew for this Srovall Sister

Yes, I am abit  askew at  why it seems to me that with  DSL again the connections are  unstable  nor reliable. I can’t seem to get  abywhee  in-world that i want to be. i will be  glad to be on a better  and connectionfastersoon.  . As for  other thigs well Alan and i are again friends w/ mmo hard feelings.  WaterFalls  is  up but  no events  yet  the time  change for me and  that isnt  the best for AK eithe… anyways  that is all for  now. hugs.

Still MIA for a bit longer…

As I  write this posting I  am still  MIA as for in-world  operations.  though  AK is  able to  get  in on a much better and  reliable  connection then I at  this moment.  I am seriously having SL withdrawals . I want to  talk to friends and conduct business for Waterfalls  with Ak there  for help if neededAlas, at  this point it is  either IM’s only  or  conversing  via emails. I really  need to get  my  fix of SL soon.

I miss  talknig with  many of you  these days and this move isn’t  hhelping me at all. *sighs* I  want to be able to  get in to see and  hear the latest on clubs and that .. *grumbles& soon I will be  back…

In any case, it is  time to close this post and  cruise   friend’s blog and comment there.

The Re-Grand Opening of Waterfalls Jazz & Lounge postponed

Yes that is  rightthe  regrandopening  that  was  set  for tongiht  has been put on hold. Reason for that is : unstable connection for AK or i to be in world. When we are  sure that  we  can one or both of us  can be  in world together  and a beter connection then  we  will announce  thhat  Waterfalls is again open.

Dur to the  poor connect oin  we  havewe are both limit(understatement there  really  it is) both AK and i are only  in world for  clearing  off  notices  and IMs and the like. It truly bites that  we both can’t in world at the same  time at  this point * ttime, but  hey  at least  one of us can be.

Such as  for the time.. to all that  still read my  blog . stay  tuned or  IM AK and one  of us will know  more  on the  club opening it’s  doors  again within I’d say a month or  there abouts.

Still alive and kicking

I am still here  and kicking for those that  even read this blog anymore. I know that  I  saif  last that I was moving and yes that  is  true  thereforeI haven’t been in world. As for Waterdalls, it is open BUT Allie  has not had the time to place any furinture  or anything like th at  as of yet. A She will get to that  as soon as shecan.

I hope that  is  posting  finds all my friends and assocaites  well and  in good spirits  as the  holiday season is upon us.  So in short for this  post… I  will leave you with this  to  muse over

true Friends are thee ones that  you  always find in creative and  the most  canning of places. Hold those  close to you  and they will be  there for you  when yuo need them the most.
